Your Privacy Choices

This is a starter draft. It describes how this website actually works, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Have it checked against the law that applies to you before you rely on it, then delete this paragraph.

The short version

This site works without any optional tracking. The parts that are genuinely required are listed first; everything after that you can switch off, and nothing on the site will stop working if you do.

Strictly necessary

These cannot be turned off, because without them the site cannot do what you asked it to do.

• Session and sign-in. Keeps you logged in to the admin or your tools account for the length of your visit.
• Security. Guards the forms against automated abuse and enforces rate limits.
• Preferences you set. Remembers a choice you made on this page, so we do not ask again every visit.

Analytics

If analytics is enabled, it records which pages are read and roughly where readers came from, in aggregate. It is used to decide what to write next. Turn it off in your browser's Do Not Track or privacy settings, or with any standard content blocker — this site does not fight them.

Advertising

We do not run advertising on this site and we do not set advertising cookies here. If a page ever embeds a third-party player or map, that provider may set its own — those are named on the page that embeds them.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. There is therefore nothing to opt out of — but if you want that recorded against your details anyway, write to [email protected] and we will note it.

Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out request without asking you to do anything else.
